Introduction
The Research Institute of oracle bone science and Chinese character civilization studies was built in 2010. In 2020, the Research Center for the Inheritance and Development of Oracle Bone Studies and Chinese Character Civilization was established. It is a research institution under the Yellow River Civilization and Sustainable Development Research Center. The institute mainly relies on three first-level discipline doctoral programs of history, archaeology, and literature, and doctoral programs of oracle bone inscriptions and ancient civilizations, and post-doctoral mobile stations. It makes full use of the advantages of Chinese character cultural resources in the Central Plains, and focuses on oracle bones and Yin Shang culture, Oracle bone inscriptions and Chinese characters, Oracle bone inscriptions and other ancient characters big data development, Oracle bone inscriptions and ancient characters calligraphy art and other four characteristics of teaching research.
The research team has successively published more than 10 monographs including "Exploration of the Phenomenon of the Differentiation of the Same Origin of Ancient Chinese Writings in Yin and Zhou Dynasties", "Collection of Chinese Characters", "Classification and Compilation of Yin Ruins Oracle Bone Inscriptions", "Hometown Henan·Oracle Bone Inscriptions", "New Oracle Bone Inscriptions", "General table of interpretable characters in oracle bone inscriptions". More than 120 papers have been published in domestic and foreign professional journals such as "Studies of the Chinese Language", "Ancient Character Research", "The Study of Chinese Characters ", "Archaeology and Cultural Relics", "Chinese Classics and Culture". The research team is committed to the development of "unique" and "unpopular disciplines" with important cultural value, and promotes the in-depth sorting and research of ancient writing materials unearthed in the Yellow River City, which provides important for the construction of two interdisciplinary subjects of Yellow River Studies, Oracle Bone Inscriptions and Ancient Civilization at Henan University,and also contributes to the development and utilization of Chinese character cultural resources in Central Plains.
