On 23 September 2020, the High-level Forum on Ecological Protection and High-quality Development of the Yellow River Basin (2020) and the second High-level Forum on Yellow River Studies were held in Mingdu Conference Center of Kaifeng, Henan Province. This forum was jointly hosted by Henan University, the Geographical Society of China, Yellow River Institute of Hydraulic Research, Development and Reform Commission of Henan Province, Cultural Relics Bureau of Henan Province. And it was jointly undertaken by Yellow River Culture Institute jointly established by Chinese Academy of History and Henan University, Key Research Institute of Yellow River Civilization and Sustainable Development & Collaborative Innovation Center on Yellow River Civilization jointly built by Henan Province and Ministry of Education. The forum focused on the implementation of Ecological Protection and High-quality Development of the Yellow River Basin put forward by President Xi Jinping and 14th five-year development plan. The themes were as follows, the strategy of coordinated development between different regions from 2021 to 2025, important technology problems of the Yellow River, new pattern of binary economic circulation between domestic and international with the high-quality development of the Yellow River basin, the ecological environment protection and construction of ecological civilization in the Yellow River basin, water resource collaborative management and utilization in the Yellow River basin, Yellow River culture heritage protection, the Yellow River change and Yellow River archaeological.
