Abstract：Rapid urbanization in China has generated faster change in rural settlements. Trajectory of rural settlement evolution in the past history and the patterns of rural settlements in development world provide references for the development of rural settlement in the future in China more important, the population carrying capacity by utilizing resources in rural site lay fundamental of rural settlements. By comparing China vise some development countries this paper exam the changing factors for rural settlements for mention and exam proposes four forms of rural settlements and process urbanization in China: that is grain product village, specialized agricultural village, tourism village and residential village. Besides four forms, there will be different forms of mixed villages.
